Georgia has recently been on the minds of the deal experts at Travelzoo, an internet company that publishes discount offers from more than 2,000 travel, entertainment and hospitality businesses. In partnership with Explore Georgia, the state tourism office within the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Travelzoo emailed a blog about some of Georgia’s highlights to millions of its members worldwide.
Along with other other destinations, the blog featured compelling reasons to visit the state’s coast, including Savannah’s spectacular restaurants. Mentioned specifically were The Grey with James Beard Award-winning Chef Mashama Bailey, Cotton & Rye, The Wyld and Mrs. Wilkes’ Dining Room.
Also included was the Pin Point Heritage Museum south of Savannah, which showcases the Gullah and Geechee culture of former enslaved people who established the area after the Civil War.
